Our Staff
Head Office Staff
General Manager
The organization is unique because it is managed by an individual who has a spinal cord injury and uses a wheelchair for mobility. He is also a consumer of services provided by the DADHC Attendant Care Program. Professionally, he has worked in the service provision field for more than 18 years and as a result he is in the inimitable position to possess extensive knowledge and insight into the administrative structures and processes of the In-home care and support industry, plus an intimate awareness of the domestic and physical care requirements of the person with high support needs.
Service Coordinators
Service Coordinators are responsible for staff rostering and the day to day administration of direct service provision. We have two fantastic coordinators, whose hard work and dedication ensures the smooth running of our service. They both came to us from previous positions within the community care industry and we value their extensive wealth of knowledge and experience.
Administration
When you call or visit you will probably speak first to our admin assistant who will deal with your query or pass you through to another member of staff, if she cannot help you.
Clinical Resources and Training Manager
The Clinical Resources and Training Manager is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years experience, 20 of which have been spent in the physical disability field. She has also worked as a Generalist Community Nurse and is a specialist in the management of spinal cord injuries, having worked in acute care and rehabilitation, plus 10 years as a community outreach consultant and trainer.
Occupational Therapist
We are most fortunate to have our own Occupational Therapist on staff. This means we have immediate access to advice on staff health and workplace safety issues. She also conducts the OHS, manual handling and back care elements of our staff training program. Additionally our clients benefit greatly from having easy access to her professional advice and assistance in regard to their equipment and environment needs.
Clinical Resources Support
The third healthcare professional on our team draws on her nursing background to manage this busy and unique position. She coordinates our staff induction and orientation initiative, oversees our staff in home training program and assists with our regular education workshops.
After Hours Support
For unexpected situations that may occur outside of normal business hours we have a fully manned, prompt and efficient after hours service to ensure around the clock support to all staff and clients.
Personal Care Assistants
We are proud of our Care Staff. They come to us from all walks of life, with a range of skills, qualifications and personal qualities, but the one thing they all possess is a commitment to doing their work to the very best of their ability. We believe that the diversity of our workforce is one of our major strengths, enabling us to provide a personally tailored service to a broad range of clients, delivered by skilled, competent and caring workers.
We personally interview all of our Care Attendants and always try to create a good match when we are placing Carers with a service user. In order to increase efficiency, whenever possible the staff are recruited and deployed to work within (or adjacent to) the area in which they live. We carry out our own in house staff training program, which includes a comprehensive induction, on the job orientation and regular group workshops. We believe this ensures our care assistants are fully and appropriately prepared for the work they do.
