Respite, Overnight Care
Respite
Respite care provides regular or occasional relief for the client's primary carer. This may range from short intervals of a couple of hours up to several days or weeks, depending on the needs of the client and their family. The carer can be confident that when they take a break from their usual responsibilities the person they care for will be safe and well in their absence.
Overnight Care
Overnight care usually falls into two categories - active and inactive. An active service is required when the client needs 'hands on' assistance periodically or consistently during the shift. Inactive service involves the carer being present in a supervisory role to provide safety, security and peace of mind.
